Age of Empires 2. π‘οΈβοΈ
Helps we are getting newer expansions/dlc almost each year that adds new campaigns, factions to have fun and with alters the meta (also some of the older campaigns).
Been playing AoE since I was a little kid. I stand by that game series

This is the correct answer. Conquerors expansion is a must in my opinion. I run it on windows xp on virtualbox. Two relatively modern laptops running Ubuntu and connected with a network switch. My son and I battle it out with some frequency. I played it back in the day when it first came out and I consider myself pretty good, but Iβll admit that he is better than me. This was a long comment. Iβll get off the internet now and go to bed.
Why not play the remastered version on Steam?
Some people donβt like how the frames are different for attack animations and resolutions.

Nostalgia mostly. Been playing that for as long as I can remember. 4 is incredible though!

I would say itβs the random map generator that gives AOE2 its longevity.
