Touch ID is the reason I still use an SE model. I doubt putting the Touch ID under the screen would preserve the reaction speed. Iโve seen phones with the screen button on the side with incorporated Fingerprint. With the background that iPhones are getting thicker again, this could be an acceptable solution.
