This is an adult responsible for thousands of jobs.

That was my first reaction to this.

How can someone be simultaneously so powerful and so immature? What batshit insane circumstances have given this manchild so much influence?

Well he inherited a lot of money, invested in the people who who were technically very competent and driven, then when he got hype he was able to attract more people like that, he made two investments that were popular among the leftwing during the Obama years so lots of government cash, and then established people just assume the stock prices of his companies could only go up.

Well, it’s thousands less since he fired all l those twitter employees. And he wants Teslas to both be built by robots and to drive themselves. So at least he’ll be increasingly less responsible for jobs that are subject to harassment and racism as time goes by.
