Right now, I’m playing the early access version of Baldurs Gate 3. I’m getting ready to put it down (frustrated: BG3 has the potential to be good, but without controller support, I’m getting really frustrated with the UI. ) and switch to Yakuza Like a Dragon.

What are you playing now and what are you looking forward to playing next?

Proton has become astonishingly good.

Even niche titles either work, or at worst I need to use a specific build of Proton (usually Proton GE for some obscure video formats).

I also have had good luck using Bottles to run Battle.net for Diablo 3 and 4.

I don't play many competitive multiplayer games though, where very aggressive anti-cheat can be a problem.

The primary games that don't work (yet) are Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, both by HoYo. There's some particular quirk of their anti-cheat that causes the games to crash instantly. That said, it's worth noting that occasionally Genshin Impact has worked for a few weeks, so HoYo seems to be testing a change that might allow it to work consistently eventually.

How do you like Bottles for Battle.net? I tried it a while back to install Diablo 2 (for Project Diablo 2) and couldn't get past the installer - it seemed like no matter what I did the Bottle wouldn't be able to use wine-gecko (I found posts online of people running into this same issue with the same installer, too.)

I've been using Lutris for BNet and it's been great, easy to change my Wine version and easy to add it as a non-Steam game to launch from gaming mode.

It works really well, but there's a small trick to it. I use the latest Wine-Proton-GE, and then there's a tab for libraries, and choose the version of DXVK you want (I use latest stable). After that Battle.net works basically perfectly, and Diablo 4 runs great!
