Relay finally shut down without subscription - not sure how much I'll really use reddit from hereon out, most of my time is on lemmy anyway

Relay was reddit to me, but I uninstalled July 1 and haven't been back. I wish the developer luck, but I doubt this works out for him. There are a probably a couple hundred diehard users who will pay, but is that enough to sustain development? Besides, reddit wants to track users, so they'll just turn the API screws and increase prices whenever convenient even if Relay manages to hang on. Reddit has proved they are not a reliable business partner, so at this point whatever happens is on him. Too bad he couldn't have gone out with some dignity like the Apollo dev.
