I don't even understand what study they're citing or what they mean by 'cars going extinct'. Nobody cares if someone keeps their 50 year old car running and takes it to car meets occasionally. As long as the bulk of tranport runs on electricity (whether that's cars or PT), we're doing fine.
This reeks of propaganda that's makes it sound like government intervention is pointless.
