Happy 626th birthday!

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are sitting on the opposite ends of a mattress, with a scrungled-up fitted sheet resting on top of the mattress between them. The foxes look at each other, full of confidence. Green: Ready to tackle putting on the fitted sheet? Blue: Yep!

Blue and Green begin to struggle with the sheet, stretching it over the mattress. Blue: Is it still on right? Green: No! The left corner escaped!

After great painstaking efforts, the foxes succeed. Standing on the opposite sides of the now sheet-covered mattress, they admire the fruits of their hard work. Green: Phew! Finally!

The foxes draw back in surprise as the mattress suddenly gives in under the strain of the bedsheet, folding nearly in half into a banana shape, as the corners of the mattress are pulled up by the corners of the sheet.

A television network majority-owned by David Montgomery, the media entrepreneur, is to snap up the licence to operate a London-focused TV station from Lord Lebedev, owner of the capital's weekly Standard newspaper.

Sky News has learnt that Local TV Ltd, which was acquired by Mr Montgomery in 2017, is close to announcing a deal to buy the London licence from London Live.

Lord Lebedev was said last month to be exploring a sale of the London Live station he launched in 2014, with The Sunday Times reporting that it had lost more than £20m since it was established.

One media industry source said the deal would take Local TV's share of the locally broadcast television market to roughly 60%.

It already has channels focused on locations including Birmingham, Leeds and Cardiff.

The company's eight existing channels are broadcast to more than five million UK households.

While owned by Mr Montgomery, Local TV is run by Lesley Mackenzie, its chief executive.

Usually just remember stuff. I'm terrible at taking notes - I either forget to take any paper/pen or I don't know what's important and don't make any notes.

If I get an action item I'll write it down or stick it somewhere on my work phone. It probably won't make much sense so I'll need to remember what it was about anyway - it just serves as a reminder that I need to do something.

At my first job somebody showed me a system that I needed to use, step by step, for a task that I needed to do to cover them the next week. I took no notes (didn't even occur to me), she was surprised that I took no notes, but I remembered it all and did the task.

I'm not sure my memory is quite good enough to trust these days, but back then it worked fine.

We used to have Great British sitcoms coming out of our ears. Now, the only hope of a laugh round here is via a nostalgia-mining reunion

We're sad to report that Team17 co-founder Martyn Brown has passed away. He was 57.

Brown helped establish the veteran British publisher in 1990 following the merger of 17-Bit Software and Swedish developer Team 7. Brown led Team17 alongside Michael Robinson, Debbie Bestwick, Andreas Tadic, Rico Holmes and Peter Tuleby.

He oversaw the company's glory years as a developer, producing Amiga hits such as Alien Breed, Body Blows, Superfrog, Project X and Worms – the latter of which is arguably Team17's most famous IP.

The fact there's an entire penis section... No. Just no.

Older (and cheaper) ones have an analogue dial. More modern ones have a digital timer.

Bookwyrm if you want something Fediverse.

Storygraph I think is the other popular one (I've not used it)

The only thing I'm really missing is a way to do cross posts, and maybe mod actions.

Other than that and a few little quirks I can work around (would be nice to get autocomplete for communities and users), it's pretty much perfect!

Yes, NeoDB. Try eggplant.place for an English language one (there's also reviewdb.app but it has been down for a week)

You need to put the domain user in the local administrators group. Easiest way to do this is through the Computer Management MMC snap-in.

It'll give full admin rights over the local computer though - You can't just give admin rights to one program AFAIK.

Big fan of Tutti Frutti, Squirm, Rockman, Fingers Malone, Big Mac.

I think 90% of what I played on the C16 was Mastertronic by either Shaun Southern or Tony Kelly.
