Whenever I see someone recommend Much Ado About Nothing (1993), I feel like it should come with a warning. I see it come up in a lot of period drama comedy recommendations, and while the film is good and funny, if you don't understand iambic pentameter you're in for a very unfunny time.
Same goes for The Hollow Crown (Henry IV adaptation), excellent mini series, but again good luck following along if you don't understand iambic pentameter.
O God, that I were a man. I would eat his heart in the market-place.
I love that play so much, it has triple puns, triple!!
Comedy? Some pretty scary stuff happens . It's between waves of the plague, there are wars, and there is hell to consider!!
Oh, I wasn't saying the Hollow Crown was a comedy, more another example of a good watch but only if you understand the dialogue.
Edit: Just occurred to me you're probably talking about Much Ado About Nothing... I think most people aren't thinking about what's going on beyond the whole soldiers arriving from war turns to hijinks situation.
