iirc 4 of the ~9 endings (depends on how you count them since there are a few variations of each) involve space travel - including the 2 worst ones.

also you should try for some more endings, the "best" ending doesn't go to space.

edit: no wait, there's way more than 9 if i count the romance choices... ummm okay 2 of the main four-ish endings???

I recall feeling a bit "meh" about the ending I got but I'm weird about games where choices matter. I get really invested in the story and when I try to replay it I start to feel like actively making different choices devalues my former choices, ultimately breaking my immersion.
