Really hoping for a new Legends game. Legends Arceus was the first pokemon game I felt the desire to finish in ten years. It was so unique and interesting. It was very very very rough around the edges, but here's to hoping that the smaller scope could make a game that's more polished than Scarlet and Violet and maybe a bit prettier too.

Honestly at this point I almost feel like the only way a Pokemon game with decent graphics could release is if Gamefreak outsources the development.

The fact that Scarlett and Violet are not polished is ludicrous. They are most likely the same engine as Sword and Shield.

The Legends game was awesome for a Pokemon game. It definitely has a more modern feel than what we recently got. Still, the "Legends engine" was still missing a ton of features like abilities. I'm certain Legends was just a demo for the brand new engine.

I also doubt GameFreak as a developer studio. Imagine having the resources behind the world's biggest cross-media franchise and your video games look and feel outdated by two decades. At least Legends Arecus was up there with Monster Hunter Tri (while lacking Arecus was very fun to be fair).

Arceus was a very fun game in a very ugly package. I had a blast playing it and I was so hyped for what it would bring to S/V.

S/V were FUN games and I liked many things about it so much more than Sword and Shield. But many of the QOL features from Arceus wasn't in S/V was, frankly, a huge disappointment. The fact that Tears of the Kingdom managed an open world larger than Pokemon with so much more polish and refinement is ridiculous. Gamefreak NEEDS to increase the size of their dev teams. Or work with another studio. Or just give the game creation rights to another studio. ANYTHING to give Pokemon the love it deserves.

Totally agree. Legends Arceus was the first Pokemon game I bought in 20 years because they trimmed down the scope so much. It and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee are great in their focus on catching plus a little bit of battling.
