Honestly, since it's between North America and South America -- I'm kind of indifferent about it. It being called Gulf of Mexico or Gulf of America isn't going to really change anything.
If it doesn't matter then why change it at all?
I dunno - why do you change your style of clothes in different seasons?
Because you want to. Does it need a greater explanation than that?
I'm down to clown when it comes to criticizing Trump for shit, but this realistically isn't going to do anything except make people big mad, for reasons they can't actually explain. If "your" candidate (whoever that is) wanted to do it, you'd make excuses for why it was a perfectly okay thing to do. I'm just reasonable and realize it doesn't really fucking matter. In 4 years it'll change back to Gulf of Mexico, and nobody will even remember it was a thing in 20.
So why let this rage bait drive you?
If "my" candidate wanted to do it, I'd seriously reconsider their fitness for office.
You're thinking of the Caribbean sea, the gulf of Mexico is bounded by the united states to the north, Florida and Cuba to the east and Mexico to the south and west.
It will literally require changing every map and GIS database in the country. Think of all the work NOAA will have to do deal with this BS. Even besides the annoyance and cost of updating all of those it will cause confusion with the rest of the world who will still call it the gulf of Mexico.
Did you give 2 shits about these names when they were changed?
You didn't? You didn't think of all the work the NOAA and the map producers and the GIS database would have to do in order to change ALL THOSE NAMES?!
Yeah. Exactly. You...didn't...give...2...fucking...shits.
So enough with the grandstanding.
