Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

ID: photo of actor Sinbad in a neon pink frame, he has a wide slightly awkward smile, and has his hand out to gesture asking a question, above in pink neon letters it says: "Real talk!" and in the frame next to the photo it says in plain black text: "so are we going to overthrow the fucking government or what?", with his signature bellow

I don't disagree about the "small" ways being necessary, but so is violence, and any message that leaves that part out (or whitewashes history and the fact that oppression has never ended without the oppressed violently fighting back) is dangerous and oppressive.

Yes, just don’t forget the average person who wants to resist is a civilian, so the bar can’t be so high as enlisting in your militia. There are many important jobs in a resistance and there’s lots of work to be done that doesn’t include guns.

No.

People who "agree with you in the goal you seek, but cannot agree with your methods of direct action" or demand we "wait for a better season" are a huge part of the problem, not the solution, and I couldn't give two shits if they don't like the idea of marginalised people arming ourselves in self defence of a danger they are actively enabling us to face.

You think I’m disagreeing with violence. I am not. You think I’m saying we should wait for another season. I am not.

I’m saying that successful rebellions start with grassroots logistics, community building and education, which requires all sorts of people. You might be a strapping young person with military training, but most who want to help are scared of violence and need other ways to contribute.

Anyway if you try to jan 6 the White House right now you’re not helping.
