I have found Al Jazeera to generally present a much more honest depiction of conflicts in west Asia than any US newscorp. Sure it isn't perfect and keeping in mind that it is run by a qatari royal is important but it is still useful right?

It depends. A lot of their reporting is indeed solid but that's part of their strategy: to gain credibiity with good reporting so that they can have the trust of the masses in the Middle East (and the Arab diaspora) for when they do lie and spread imperialist propaganda (like they did against Gaddafi, Assad, and even against China with regards to Xinjiang iirc).

It really depends on what is being reported but ye, overall they are happier to report on things other news agencies are not.
