So disappointing Americans finally woke up to the class war a month too late
Nothing has changed. Nothing. If the election was tomorrow, Trump would still win. Don't be fooled by all of us sane Americans that exist here on Lemmy.
Right? When things are boring or good, people get complacent. But the fight for freedom is neverending.
Both parties are on the same aode of the class war. One just pays lip service to climate change and minorities while implementing all the same heinous shit.
Only one party nominated and elected a billionaire though…
And the other party candidates have said in consecutive elections that they weren't going to change anything. People know that the country is fundamentally broken and want someone that is going to actually change things.
The other party was merely backed by billionaires and ran a billion dollar campaign.

You had a choice between the fascist and a kind of crap government and you chose the fascist.

The UK had a crap ineffective government for 16 years but they've been replaced now and they're not fascist.

I don't know if you realize this but most Americans do not live in the lands that american weapons destroy and do not know the first thing about what goes on in those places, other than what their media tells them.

You're seriously telling me that suburban dwelling family of four is the same as an inner city single mother raising two kids?
The whole point about classes is that different people have different outlooks based entirely on their socioeconomic situation you can't pretend that doesn't exist just because it's not nice.
Yes. They are both working class. They both have to work to get money to live. They are both far more similar to each other than to a billionaire. The owning class doesn't work for a living, they own for a living. They own things that let them take money from working class people.
There's not just two classes, there working class, middle class, and upperclass, which I suppose you could call the owning class.
Yes the middle class also work, so perhaps a better name for the working class would be the laboring class, the names are not important, but the point is that working-class people tend disproportionately to have blue-collar jobs, and middle class people tend to have white collar jobs. They tend to work shorter hours for more money, and so have more disposable income.
That kind of rhetoric is dangerous. If a white collar worker hears it, they might think they have class interests that oppose those of blue collar workers. And that might convince them to vote for conservatives who promise to oppress the working class and give tax cuts to the rich.
It isn't rhetoric, it is reality.
If you are not prepared to face fact then you are part of the problem in fact you are pretty much the entirety of the problem.
White collar workers don't have significant class interests in opposition to blue collar workers. We all benefit from that which benefits the poorest of us. For example, when the minimum wage is raised, we all end up making more money than we did before. It's not reality.
Citation needed. You can look at votastats broken down by income and you can see that there is significant differences between the way people vote based on their economic status in fact their economic status is the greatest effector of how they would vote. You cannot state that social classes do not exist in the United States because they so demonstrably do.

Yeah, that's because the so-called middle class are brainwashed into voting against their class interests by propaganda. Or did you think Trump's economic policy is a win for the middle class?
