Thank you to @carpoftruth@hexbear.net for covering my position as Supreme Dictator of the Goddamn News while I was moving and getting set up in my new home in a top secret Kremlin-funded bunker five hundred feet below the ground. Our regularly scheduled programming returns this week.

On October 9th, Daniel Chapo won the Mozambique general election with about 70% of the vote. Chapo is the head of FRELIMO, the Marxist-Leninist party of Mozambique's liberation, which fought an internal anti-communist resistance called RENAMO which was backed by Rhodesia and apartheid South Africa; Frelimo won in 1975. However, as the USSR fell, Frelimo began to allow elections inside Mozambique, and has ruled the country with significant majorities in each election ever since.

The main opposition party inside Mozambique is Podemos, which is led by Venancio Mondlane, a former member of Renamo and trained inside the USA. He alleges that his polling figures predicted a majority win for him, not Frelimo, and has accused Chapo of electoral fraud. There have been the usual slogans about how they yearn for freedom. The EU, of course, "witnessed irregularities." As @WilsonWilson@hexbear.net has pointed out, Mozambique has massive undeveloped gas fields and is outsourcing the development process to France, Norway, the UK, and the USA, while mysterious Islamist groups have popped up to cause chaos in the exact regions which have the gas, slowing the process of actually developing those gas fields. Overall, it appears to be a cookie-cutter colour revolution attempt by the imperial core designed to install a comprador for cheaper resources. Its proximity to BRICS+ member South Africa may also be significant, noting the colour revolution in Bangladesh earlier this year exerting influence near India and China.

Protestors have been battling against the police and government since late October, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries as well as massive disruption, as the government has intermittently blocked access to the internet and social media. As of today, calm appears to be returning, with border crossings beginning to reopen.

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon. - Telegram is @IbnRiad.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis. - Telegram is @EyesOnSouth.
English-language Twitter account in the same group as the previous two. - Telegram here.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Pro-Russian Telegram Channels:

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine Telegram Channels:

Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

I've been seeing some libs claiming that apparently black women in the US are buying starbucks to "own the arabs" as revenge for not voting for kkkamala, anybody heard anything about it or are white libs just playing the divide and conquer game again to punish minorities for not bending to their will? Leaning on the latter but it sounded ridiculous enough to ask.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 50 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Regrettably, I have been proximate to this discourse and there’s a non-0 percentage of hateful libs whose solidarity ended when they perceived Arabs as killing the Kamala Kampaign and buy Starbucks to make a point. Maybe white libs are fueling the flames, but black libs can be just as shitty and vindictive as white ones

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yup. Being oppressed doesn’t make one an inherently better person

[–] 3rdWorldCommieCat@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago

Exactly and its wild how some minority USians don't seem to grasp that. Like no I'm not gonna give anyone a pass if they support us hegemony and what they do to other countries just cause they also happen to be oppressed in some way.

[–] 2Password2Remember@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

i don't agree with this, because to me there are two types of lib. most people in the US are "apolitical", i.e. they're liberals but they don't know it. those people are salvageable and in a lot of cases just need to be woken up. but yeah anybody who identifies as a liberal, who consciously conceives of themselves as a liberal, is lost

The majority of USians don't fucking vote, and the proportion of nonvoters only goes up for minorities. Only around 1% of Indigenous people humiliated themselves by participating in a sham election and sham election of a settler colony in the process of genociding them at that. The 99% of Indigenous people either can't vote or don't want to vote. And the 1.5M is almost certainly an undercount, which means the percentage of voters is even lower.

This is something this website has repeatedly failed to internalize and capitalize on. Most USians, even white people who this settler colony specifically caters towards, think voting ain't shit. So, when you see people, especial POC, go blah blah blah about some stupid candidate, you could pretty much discount them as a complete freak or a paid operative. Nobody normal cares about US presidential candidates like this, especially not after the election is fucking over.

[–] kittin@hexbear.net 35 points 2 days ago

And the reason why I’m eating pizza for dinner tonight is not, in fact, because I’m a gluttonous piece of shit but is rather a subtle method of expressing support for southern Europe in this time of economic turmoil for the EU.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 37 points 2 days ago

i think it was just one annoying lib

[–] 2Password2Remember@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago

believing or taking seriously anything said by a self-avowed liberal is a waste of time and energy. they're children, pay them no mind

Death to America

It unfortunately appears to be a real phenomenon on social media, at least. Communitarian ideologies cannot be a substitute for the absence of a socialist ideology in the working class. This is true for all communities in the USA, even the most radical communities.

[–] 3rdWorldCommieCat@hexbear.net 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I expect nothing from USians yet I still end up disappointed somehow.

[–] xiaohongshu@hexbear.net 32 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Wait until you hear foreigners on temporary work visas complaining about pro-Palestine protesters because Trump winning is going to increase their risks of getting deported.

I still stay in touch with the immigrant circles even after leaving the US so I hear about these sentiments in the chat group I’m in.

[–] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 38 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Samir Amin's writings on this matter continue to be correct:

Successive waves of immigration also played a role in reinforcing American ideology. The immigrants were certainly not responsible for the poverty and oppression that lay behind their departure for the United States. But their emigration led them to give up collective struggle to change the shared conditions of their classes or groups in their native countries, and adopt instead the ideology of individual success in their adopted home. Adopting such an ideology delayed the acquisition of class consciousness. Once it began to mature, this developing consciousness had to face a new wave of immigrants, resulting in renewed failure to achieve the requisite political consciousness. Simultaneously, this immigration encouraged the “communitarianization” of U.S. society. “Individual success” does not exclude inclusion in a community of origin, without which individual isolation might become insupportable. The reinforcement of this dimension of identity—which the U.S. system reclaims and encourages—is done to the detriment of class consciousness and the forming of citizens. Communitarian ideologies cannot be a substitute for the absence of a socialist ideology in the working class. This is true even of the most radical of them, that of the black community.

[–] Red_Eclipse@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Which writing is this from? I'm wondering if he talks about what is to be done about that issue.

[–] aaaaaaadjsf@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

You can read the full piece here, it's not that long and is more of a general overview than anything else. If you want a more fleshed out thesis of sorts, I'd recommend reading "Eurocentrism", the second edition, though that is a 300 page book.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 21 points 2 days ago

It seems to be black libs on social media. The sort of phenomenon that definitely happens but is being talked about as if it’s a huge number. The average black woman in America probably felt upset by the results and then continued on.

[–] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 29 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Women be ~~shopping~~ buying Starbucks. I wouldn't think about it too deeply. It's probably just turboshitlibs being vindictive saying that stuff. IIRC Starbucks isn't even on the actual list, right?

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The actual bds list and the post 10-7 boycott list are two different things

[–] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

When I think of “the BDS list,” it’s category 1, those campaigns started by bds. Hence the disclaimer/distinction:

“ Many of the prohibitively long lists going viral on social media do the exact opposite of this strategic and impactful approach. They include hundreds of companies, many without credible evidence of their connection to Israel’s regime of oppression against Palestinians. Many do not have clear demands to the companies as to what we expect them to do to end the boycott, making them ineffective.”

[–] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I understand, but for people who aren't following BDS closely and are the type of want to be vindictive and patronize somewhere that's being boycotted, they are probably just going to searching something like "BDS list" which is more than likely going to take them to that page.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Welp, since starbucks isn’t on this list i guess you’re right? I’m confused about this discusssion tbh

[–] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 5 points 2 days ago

People definitely are boycotting Starbucks over Israel, y'all are right about thta. I'm just saying a lot people who don't really follow BDS probably don't know that.

[–] Dessa@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Didn't BDS add starbucks and mcdonalds as "Organic boycott" targets in response? Pretty sure they were adopted

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago

I saw McDonald's on the organic boycott list, but don't recall seeing Starbucks. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I saw a video where they said it's not on there but they support people who boycott it if they want.

[–] bbnh69420@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago

Idk about that, my understanding is that the organic boycotts are distinct from the targeted campaigns on the “BDS List”

[–] Halloweenbean@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Honestly I don't doubt it, the black churches have more or less lost their power over lumpen. You'd be surprised about the wild hateful crap black women say on the bus. It doesn't help matters that there has been a huge influx of haitian immigrants lately who they seem to hate more than Hispanic immigrants.
