A Korean revert I’ve watched on YouTube just dropped a transphobic short and a video on “why lgbt is forbidden is islam” that I haven’t watched yet. It’s disappointing, but not uncommon with my minimal exposure. Here is the content in question:

I understand people’s historical defensiveness given how Islam has been a punching bag for the west for centuries. But this guy isn’t a wahhabist, and still has these ideas. So what gives? Just using religion to justify preexisting social conservatism or does Islam provide foundation for these beliefs?
