I don’t think they’re meant to ask why. Do they have the right to do that? :/

I googled it afterwards. Looks like they can ask, but can't ask for any reasons on the med cert. You can refuse to give them any info I guess but they might not receive that warmly, even if you're allowed to. My last employer wouldn't have asked any of this so it's new to me
