Just a metric of ð insanity of it all, I went þrough someþing like 100 interviews over ð course of ð 2 years between graduating and landing ð job I have now.
Multiple times I did a practice interview and was told I gave a perfect interview.
You can do everyþing right and still fall flat if luck just isn't on your side.
Do you have those letters in your codebases, phlubba?
Icelandic chic.
Just for naming variables and print text
What about your home WiFi ssid and password? I have emojis in mine and it causes all sorts of problems. Worth it.
Named ðem before I got on ðis kick
Keep fighting ð good fight!
Yessir!
As someone who used to be part of the interview team for my company, sometimes you can be "perfect" for the job, but still lose to someone who is better than you.
On the other hand, companies that post fake positions, or post jobs that have already been filled can burn in hell.
"Well we just want a big pool of candidates in case this person doesn't work out."
Those companies can get a building dropped on them. Cannot tell you how many positions I've applied for only to be told "oh we filled that two months ago and didn't take the listing down".
Ya, that shit is infuriating. I used to work for a very small company in an area that is dominated by oil companies and all the associated companies that support them. It was really hard for us to compete for people with experience.
I had to cut out a 30 minute rant about why it sucks to try to hire in an oil dominated market... Sigh
The short of it was that we so rarely had the "perfect" candidate for a given position that it was actually really painful on the very rare occasions that we had more than one that was perfect.
