He just watched his surrogate son casually murder the closest thing he had to a grandma because she was in his way, dude's gone all-in on the war

she wasn’t “casually in his way” she was going for the button that slammed a door shut and released gas to kill him and his dad, after baiting him into a trap

it would be a lot to expect of a kid to handle that well and just like, speed out, leaving his already dying dad to get killed in the trap, even if it would have been the better move

It was knockout gas, but your point stands.

[–] citrussy_capybara@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

that makes more sense since it seemed odd they had a take out homelander gas and didn’t have a plan to use it, the dialogue and reactions made it seem more sinister

[–] Storm@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

The knockout gas is a pretty powerful tool though. Can homelander drown?

It was halothane which is odd because that shit didn't affect Soldier Boy at all, they needed Novichok just to keep him immobile

To be fair to Ryan, he was a traumatized kid with powers he couldn't control, who up to that point was living at Disney headquarters under the supervision of his abusive father.

Grace was standing in his way after revealing a threat on top of even more traumatizing information.

I wouldn't say it was casual murder, but it was enough for Butcher to lose faith in him.

yes, not casual murder, he already felt bad accidentally killing the actor in the staged first heroism, don’t think he meant to kill her and imagine he’ll be dealing with further trauma killing a grandmotherly figure next season
