I am now convinced that CPUSA is just a fed honeypot.

Back in the day when it was an actual influential entity? Sure. But the thing with infiltrations is that you eventually don’t need to do active measures. Like Lenin says, revolutionary icons are defanged and neutered. The next generation of curious people join the already destabilized and sabotaged organizations with the watered down ideology, and they organically prolong that watered down organization. It’s a hollowed out shell of an organization. Even the feds have already left for more interesting projects. The best form of propaganda and political warfare is when people carry it out for you unwittingly, much like capitalist realism.

I don't think the feds would leave the organization just because it's no longer relevant. Destabilizing an already destabilized organization is a cushy job, and there's no need to tell anyone further up the management hierarchy that it's completely superfluous.
