That's a pretty low benchmark.

Pre-enshittification.

...especially on leg days.

That was quite well-executed.

Actual rate of pay has been over $20/hr as some tasks pay more. I've received deposits according to the schedule they've laid out without any issues. And I've not had a W-2 position for years as I have had my own businesses. Wanna buy one of my wood carvings? Tax implications are important and I put aside part of each payment for those reasons.

$20/hr or more. Seems to me that as long as you can type a complete English sentence and show some amount of discernment that you'd be able to do the job. There was a short test prior to being hired that seemed to focus on creativity.

Let's make it non-fiction and have the setting be an arid, inhospitable, howling wasteland.

This appeared while cutting up some firewood on the homestead.

At the center of this carving sits Lake Cumberland Marina, the largest marina on the largest man-made lake in the United States. I prefer to use locally available hardwoods, in this case, maple and thermal poplar with resin added to represent the water. No paints, stains or dyes were used on the wood. The folks there were simply the best. But now we're here! What brings me joy today? The hummingbirds outside my window drinking the nectar I've provided.

Hope my work fits in around here. Wouldn't be possible for me to create this carving of Kasei Valles, an outflow channel containing a water-swept crater on Mars, without scientists. I consider it art, and it is made possible only by the myriad of engineers, scientists, astronomers who create the 3D models using spaceflight and the designers and engineers who make CNC possible. My largest carvings contain over one million gcode coordinates, guess I need to thank all the computer engineers as well.

This model is made from resin-filled cherry wood and the frames are thermal poplar, heated in a vacuum to produce the rich black tones.

I carve from a solar-powered, off-grid workshop in rural Kentucky, USA. Happy to make custom models for folks of anywhere in the solar system we can get models for! Actively seeking commissions @ woodgrainterrain.com.

Actively seeking commissions @ woodgrainterrain.com. Have you a connection a favorite part of this planet? I can make you a custom one-of-a-kind carving of your location. I'm a former wilderness guide with a masters degree in environmental education and I carve using a solar-powered workshop in rural Kentucky, USA. Meeting new people and making new connections are the best part of my work.
