This is the correct answer. All of the other explanations are dancing around this: no matter what YOU think of a particular product, if a customer is willing to buy it then YOUR opinion must be the wrong one.

It has to do with keeping the internal circuit boards cool so they don’t overheat due to the heat from the oven. We had a stove that did that too. I hated that thing. It would roar like a jet engine for about 30 minutes even after you turned the oven off.

Ours love watermelon too. I thought they would love overripe bananas as well, but they turned their beaks up at them. Weird.
