i have absolutely no idea what the fuck just happened.

From what I've heard they can save money on their taxes if they claim the show as a loss, but to do that they need to take it off P+ so there can be no doubt that it isn't making a profit.

So basically the government is paying them to delete content.

Third rule of acquisition: Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to.

What distro does the server use? Ubuntu 22.10

Excuse me?!?!?!?

It almost seems like Paramount's execs want you to pirate their content. The other thing that frustrates me that they've been doing is sending PC users extremely low-quality streams just to spite anybody who payed to view their content instead of torrenting it. I guess the line of thought is that this will make it harder for pirates to capture HD-quality streams, but that's not stopping them so all it does is make it so that the pirates are the only ones who can watch it in HD on a PC.

Not sure if they fixed this but there was also a problem with episodes randomly missing back in the CBS All-Access days. I especially remember Menagerie and Cage were mysteriously gone when they released that episode of Discovery where they revisit Talos IV.

I'm rambling but my point is that CBS/Paramount's stupid myopic decisions only drive people to torrent sites because the version that you download is a far superior product to what they're streaming.

ugh, this destroys a lot of the appeal of Paramount+ for me. the only reason i have a subscription is that it's the one-stop-shop for all things star trek, but i guess not anymore.

They're also really boosting the appeal of piracy (not that i would ever recommend somebody reading this post commit piracy) because that's the only way to reliably enjoy the things you would otherwise be paying to rent.

LOL no. The mods weren't taking this seriously, they were even posting on /r/anime while it was locked for everybody else. What a farce this whole blackout was.

i couldn't get on crunchyroll yesterday but it seems to be working now.

Calibarn is a neat design. I still have mixed feelings about this show, I love the mobile suits and the character designs but the world-building has been lacking. They've barely explained what Permet is even though it's central to the plot. Why would flying a suit without permet be like driving a car blind? Nobody elaborates, and for some reason Chuchu is totally fine with it which completely undercuts its importance. Is she going to be just fine when her demi barding deplots with that antique cockpit?

This does not look good. This looks like a low-budget kids' movie from 1998. When Luffy finally stretched out his arm at the end it really did just look like somebody stretched it out in photoshop and called it a day. The fucking Fantastic Four movie from 20 years ago did a better job with Mr Fantastic's limbs than this.
