I feel like this is a case for framework support. They were better than your generic IT team when I interacted with them. Maybe they have a better idea of what is going wrong.

FYI, Fossify SMS Messenger is a fork of the now unmaintained SimpleMobileTools and Connect You has no plans to support mms (although it is pretty).

QUIK SMS looks great though.

From experience, older thinkpads usually sell for cheap, come with an inbuilt monitor, and are built sturdy. Highly recommend.

And, idk how, but I ended up reading the entire thing.

 

I used to lurk on unixporn a lot in the old place, but I never thought my setup was worth showing (no rounded corners, cool floating stuff, slick darcula themes). However...I'm supposed to be an active contributor here 😅

Everything is centered around EXWM which basically allows you to embed your x windows into an emacs buffer (turning emacs into a window manager).
