Readarr honestly feels like the most barebones of all the arrs. I tried it for a bit and decided to just use Calibre to manage my library.

Sure, I need to manually grab stuff but it more than makes up for that with the other features it has.

As far as effort goes for this, took me less than 5 mins to do. I'm onboard with moving away from reddit after all the shady stuff spez has pulled though.

Not sure if people missed this post on this community earlier, but RIF can be patched so that it works the same as before: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/307734

Sure, the question of should you still be using Reddit after their horrible treatment of 3rd party devs is up to you, just wanted to let people know this was an option.

After I tried it, seems to work perfectly. The only thing I noticed is that imgur links won't work anymore, probably because the api keys RIF was using to pull from imgur are not valid after the OAuth client patch. Small price to pay to be able to keep using RIF though.

EDIT: @talklittle, if you are not okay with people patching your app, I can take this post down

sorry, what do you mean by the sub rehab website?

Has this community been advertised to people on the smashbros subreddit who may be looking to make the switch? Might be a good idea to make a post there with a link to this community and instructions on how to join.

This graphic is a good intro to how Lemmy works and how to think about it.

If anyone wants to go ahead and cross-post to the reddit sub, that might help attract more users here.

Setting up something simple like Tailscale should also work to access local network stuff from different networks.

Yep I've canceled all my streaming services (used to have around 4-5) and now I just pirate whatever I want to watch. With rising prices, less content, geographic restrictions etc, keeping a streaming subscription just doesn't make sense anymore.
