School's almost back in session and that means summer break is almost over and the next MOKANCAN meetup has been scheduled! Join us on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm in meeting room A at Lawrence Public Library in beautiful Lawrence, Kansas. We will have a bunch of stickers and EFF swag to give away!
This might be of interest to our friends in the Kansas City metro area! Mid-Continent Public Library's Woodneath branch will be hosting New York Times tech reporter, Kashmir Hill, for a discussion about the ethics of emerging technologies. Free copies of Hill's book, Your Face Belongs to Us, will be available for attendees while supplies last. There will be a book signing immediately following the event. The event is from 6:00pm - 7:00pm on Thursday June 20th at Woodneath Auditorium. Registration is required.

Am librarian. It’s ok. Nothing is going to sneak out into the wild from that USB. People plug USBs into our computers every day that are probably way worse than anything you pick up on the street.
