If a person doesn't want to give them personal things better not use any of those networks or use them scarcely. But, alternatives are pretty much underdeveloped especially for companies, shops and similar. Most of the local small shops communicate with customers over Facebook pages even when they have hosted websites. It gives them bigger exposure.
