Comedian Katherine Ryan allegedly confronted Brand during the filming of Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle,” but her remarks were edited out.

It seems that Russell Brand’s alleged sexual misconduct may have been a well-known industry secret.

The British comedian left Comedy Central’s “Roast Battle” in 2018 after co-judge Katherine Ryan called him a “sexual predator” on camera, three sources who worked with the show’s production company, Fulwell 73, told Deadline in a story published Monday.

The sources told the entertainment outlet that Ryan, a Canadian comedian who worked with Brand on the reality competition show, called him out on numerous occasions during filming, but her pointed remarks were edited out of the final cut of the episodes.

On Sunday, The Mirror resurfaced a clip of Ryan telling the BBC’s Louis Theroux in 2022 that she had once confronted a co-worker about being a “predator” directly to “his face.” She did not name the co-worker at the time of the interview.

She told Theroux that it was “very dangerous for us to have this conversation.”

“I’m happy to have it,” Ryan continued, “but it is a litigious minefield, because a lot of people have tried to nail this person down for their alleged crimes, and this person has very good lawyers.”

She added that the allegations against her co-worker were “not really my story to tell.”

“No one has perpetrated any sexual assaults against me, but this person I believe very strongly — so do a lot of people … it’s an open secret — is a perpetrator of sexual assault,” Ryan told Theroux.

According to Deadline and The Mirror, Ryan also told Theroux that she had confronted this co-worker “in front of loads of people, in the format of the show.”

Deadline confirmed with its sources that Ryan was referring to Brand during her interview with Theroux.

Ryan did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment and confirmation.

Over the weekend, the U.K.-based outlets The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches released a joint statement saying they were investigating allegations that Brand had sexually assaulted and abused four women between 2006 and 2013 when the comedian’s acting career was at its peak.

One woman, who is now 31, said she had a three-month relationship with Brand when she was 16, and that Brand “forced his penis down her throat” at the time. She characterized the comedian as abusive and controlling.

Another woman who was interviewed by the British outlets said that Brand raped her against a wall in her Los Angeles home. The outlets’ joint statement also notes that they obtained medical records showing that this woman received treatment at a rape crisis center the day she said her rape occurred.

Brand has denied the allegations. In a video he posted on social media the day before the British outlets’ investigation was published, Brand said he had received notice of “some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.” He also suggested that he was the victim of a “coordinated attack” by the media.

Deadline notes that Brand has been virtually absent from British television since his one-season stint on “Roast Battle” in 2018, with the exception of an appearance on “The Great Celebrity Bake Off” in 2019.

In the past couple of years, the comedian has also rebranded himself as a wellness influencer and has become increasingly right-wing on social media. Brand shared COVID-19 conspiracy theories on his YouTube channel and hosted ex-Fox News personality Tucker Carlson on his channel in July.

The late-night host has faced harsh criticism after announcing the return of his show last week.

Bill Maher is the latest host to walk back plans to return to TV without WGA writers amid the Hollywood strikes.

Maher credited reports that the AMPTP would soon return to negotiations with the striking WGA as the reason for this reversal. "My decision to return to work was made when it seemed nothing was happening and there was no end in sight to this strike," Maher tweeted on Monday. "Now that both sides have agreed to go back to the negotiating table I'm going to delay the return of Real Time, for now, and hope they can finally get this done."

After announcing last week that Real Time with Bill Maher would return to production "sans writers or writing," the host faced immense pushback. Keith Olbermann, for example, tweeted: "As somebody who's known you since 1978: F--- you, Bill."

Real Time with Bill Maher joins The Drew Barrymore Show, The Talk, and The Jennifer Hudson Show in delaying their planned returns amid pressure from strikers.

Now that the unions have flexed their power and demonstrated the public's continuing sympathy with the strikers, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) is returning to the negotiating table. Deadline reports that the AMPTP will resume bargaining with the WGA this Wednesday.

Ariana Grande is following in her boyfriend Ethan Slater's footsteps ... because she's also officially filed for divorce from her husband of 2 years, Dalton Gomez, and he's filed too.

Ariana's lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed first Monday ... citing the boilerplate "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for divorce.

Dalton immediately followed suit, filing his response in a clearly-coordinated effort. We're told everything was worked out before going to the courthouse. Sources say Ariana will cut Dalton a check, and that will be that.

BTW ... they had a prenup. The date of separation is February 20, 2023.

As for why it took so long between the date of separation and the divorce filings, a source with direct knowledge tells us the two took their time to iron out details and settle. Our source says there are no hard feelings ..."they’ve been really caring and respectful of one another every step of this process."

As we reported, Ariana began dating her "Wicked" costar, Ethan Slater, after splitting with Dalton while filming the flick overseas ... a bombshell that sent fans wild.

Since then, Ethan's filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay. The 2 were high school sweethearts and tied the knot in 2018. They also share a kid together, whom they welcomed last year.

Sources also told us Ethan "desperately" wants to co-parent their kid in the midst of their divorce ... and both of them have apparently agreed.

Neither Ariana or Dalton have commented publicly on their divorce.

Russell Brand’s upcoming live shows have all been postponed following allegations of rape and sexual assault.

“We are postponing these few remaining addiction charity fundraiser shows, we don’t like doing it – but we know you’ll understand,” said a one-line statement from the promoters of Brand’s Bipolarisation tour in the past few minutes.

Brand was due to perform tomorrow at the Theatre Royal Windsor, with further dates in Wolverhampton and Plymouth.

Brand’s management and bosses at the Theatre Royal had spent this morning deciding whether to proceed with tonight’s show. A Theatre Royal statement said it will be “offering ticket refunds in line with our Terms & Conditions of sale.”

BTS's Suga will officially report for his mandatory military service in Korea beginning on Sept. 22, his management company, BIGHIT Entertainment, announced on Weverse on Sept. 17. "SUGA will be beginning his required service on September 22. There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp," they said. "We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting SUGA at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only."

The news that Suga was preparing to enlist arrived on Aug. 7, a day after he finished his "D-DAY" tour supporting his latest album. After his final show, he appeared on Weverse in a live broadcast and addressed his fans. "I had a fun tour the last couple of months. I really don't cry," he said. "Those past 10 years went by like a film." Though Suga did not discuss his enlistment plans, he hinted that it might be a while before fans see him perform live again. "I think it's a lie if I say 'soon,'" he added. "Let's see each other in 2025, OK? Please wait a little bit. 2025. See you then!"

In 2022, after years of speculation, it was confirmed that the members of BTS would enlist in the South Korean military for national service. Their management company announced the news on Twitter in October 2022, writing, "BIGHIT MUSIC is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service." The statement continued, "BIGHIT MUSIC has focused to the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that's now. Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October. He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government. Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans."

All able-bodied men between 18 and 28 must serve around two years in South Korea's military. Prior to BIGHIT's announcement, it was widely debated whether BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook would be given exemptions from compulsory service, a move that would have required a change in Korea's military laws. As it stands, exemptions are only granted to high-achieving sports stars and classical musicians. The band was previously granted a deferral in 2020, allowing BTS to delay their duties until the age of 30, though at the time the band's ages ranged from 24-29.

On June 20, 2022, BTS released their anthology album, "Proof," and four days later, they dropped their final FESTA content, a video of the group gathering for dinner and drinks to celebrate their ninth anniversary. They revealed they would take a hiatus as a group to focus on various solo projects. However, it soon became clear that the group hiatus would be a little longer than expected, with the group not expected to come together again until 2025. "Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment," BIGHIT's statement added.

On Oct. 15, 2022, BTS held their highly anticipated "Yet to Come" concert in Busan to promote South Korea's bid to host the 2030 World Expo. Attended by 50,000 ARMYs in person, the concert live-streamed to tens of millions of fans, further proof of BTS's global success. "'Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)' is more than a track from their latest album; it is a promise, there's much more yet to come in the years ahead from BTS," the statement concluded.

Which BTS Members Have Enlisted in the Korean Military?

Jin began his military service on Dec. 13, 2022, per NPR. J-Hope was the second BTS member to enlist, beginning his service in April. Suga will be the third, kicking off his service on Sept. 22.

When Will the Rest of BTS's Members Enlist in the Korean Military?

Many fans interpreted BIGHIT's announcement to mean all members of BTS would enlist by mid-2023 after the release of their individual projects so that they'd all have completed their military service ahead of a planned 2025 group comeback, and AllKPop also reported that all members would enlist in 2023. However, when POPSUGAR reached out for additional comment in 2022, a HYBE representative could not give a firm timeline on the remaining members of BTS's enlistment plans at the time. Reps did not respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment at the time of Suga's enlistment announcement.

Will BTS Be Allowed to Perform as a Group While Serving in the Korean Military?

K-pop idols don't typically perform with their group once they've enlisted for military service, but that may not be the case for BTS.

"If it is for public service to the nation, or for national events or performances which benefit the nation, [BTS] will be allowed to participate in performances and activities should they wish," a representative for Korea's Ministry of Defense said during a regular press briefing on Oct. 18, 2022, according to an AllKPop report. "This opportunity is already available to some enlisted soldiers."

Still, it's unclear what performances would fall under this exception. "We are not referencing any specific events or promotions at this time," the representative added.

The uncertainty surrounding the terms under which BTS would and would not be allowed to reunite as a group to perform while members are enlisted has had fans and nonfans alike feeling uneasy. "Can they just leave them [to] serve in peace ffs💀 atp i feel bad for them," one user wrote on Twitter. "idk this kinda makes me mad like double work??? why would they do this to them?" another wrote, another adding, "Noooooooo treat them normally theyre not special as u say.. plsss leave them alone just let them serve peacefully."

While BTS's fans have been sad about the prospect of the members being away for so long while serving in the Korean military, they knew this day would come and have been overwhelmingly supportive of BTS's decision. In the meantime, fans have plenty of solo music from BTS members to enjoy, as J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, RM, and Jungkook all released projects in 2022, and Suga released "D-Day" on April 21. Also, the group released a memoir titled "Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS" on July 9.

*NSYNC's JC Chasez and Lance Bass are teasing the potential for fans to see more of the group ... and it sounds like we shouldn't rule out anything just yet!

We got JC at LAX, where he told us how fun it was to get back in the studio to record "Better Place," the song featured in the upcoming film, "Trolls Band Together" ... especially coming 2 decades after their last studio effort.

Now, sources have told us the track would be a one-off for the fellas -- but we couldn't pass up the chance to ask JC his feelings about *NSYNC doing more ... especially because their reunion's drawn so much attention.

He played it coy ... telling us he's just focused on the single for now, but he didn't completely crush the hopes of fans, and even said, "anything is possible."

Lance was also at LAX, separate from JC, and when we asked him the same thing, he had an interesting response -- putting the focus on the ongoing writers' and actors' strike.

He said if people wanna see the group reunite again -- for a tour or a full album -- they better start supporting the strike.

Now, this could be one of 2 things -- he could just be using his platform to shine a light on the thousands of union workers out of jobs. Or ... it's possible the gang is already in talks for another fun reunion, but the strikes might be throwing a wrench in whatever they want to do next.

As you know, the band's iconic reunion at the MTV VMAs had people in shock, including Taylor Swift, who accepted an award from them early in the night.

Seeing them in the studio is a great sign, too ... and, at the very least, JC and Lance are saying there's a chance for them to do more.

Shannon Beador's tough year just got a lot rougher ... the reality TV star got busted for driving drunk this weekend in SoCal.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star drove her car onto a residential property in Newport Beach Saturday night, and actually clipped the house.

We're told Beador then turned back onto the road and kept going before parking her vehicle in the middle of the street and getting out with her dog.

Our sources say she tried to act like she was taking a walk when police arrived after receiving a 911 call. We're told she wasn't fooling anyone ... as she appeared wasted and was taken into custody.

Cops also seized Beador's car as part of their investigation into the damage to the home.

A rep for Newport Beach PD says Beador was booked for 2 misdemeanors ... hit-and-run and DUI alcohol. She was cited and released without bond. Sources with direct knowledge tell us she was not filming with Bravo before the arrest, as the show's not currently in production.

It's been a bumpy ride for Beador lately -- in January, she publicly discussed her painful split with her boyfriend of 3 and a half years, John Janssen.

Beador told People she was blindsided by Janssen breaking up with her in November 2022 -- weeks after they had wrapped filming for Season 17 of 'RHOC.' She reportedly said, "He told me he was done with the relationship. And to hear what he said to me then was absolutely devastating."

"Several women" have come forward with new claims against Russell Brand it was reported Monday

Russell Brand is reportedly the focus of new allegations.

On Monday, the U.K. newspaper The Times reported that “several women” had contacted the publication since it published allegations of rape, sexual assault and abuse by multiple women on Saturday in a joint investigation run with The Sunday Times and the Channel 4 current affairs show Dispatches.

Scotland Yard has also been encouraged to investigate the allegations against Brand by government minister Caroline Nokes, who said Monday that “celebrity can act as a shield," reported The Times.

Nokes, who chairs the British parliament's committee on women and equalities, added the allegations were “incredibly shocking and criminal," and that they were “first and foremost a matter for the police," the outlet added.

On Monday, Scotland Yard confirmed to PEOPLE that London's Metropolitan Police was "aware of media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault."

"At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this," the statement added. "If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police."

"We spoke with The Sunday Times on Saturday, 16 September," the statement continued. "We will be making further approaches to the Sunday Times and Channel 4 to ensure that any victims of crime who they have spoken with are aware of how they may report any criminal allegations to police."

In a separate statement, a BBC spokesperson also told PEOPLE on Monday that the corporation was "urgently looking into the issues raised" by the report.

"The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning a number of years," the BBC spokesperson added. "Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programmes between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently looking into the issues raised.”

Brand was first accused of sexual and emotional abuse by multiple women by The Times and Dispatches on Saturday evening local time. Four of the women involved have so far remained anonymous — including a 16-year-old.

In the report, an unidentified woman accused Brand of raping her against a wall in his Los Angeles home in 2012. A former colleague also alleged that Brand sexually assaulted her in 2013, while Brand’s ex-girlfriend Jordan Martin accused him of sexual assault and abuse.

The media outlets reported that the incidents allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013 when the comedian was presenting shows for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and acting in Hollywood movies.

In reply, Brand said Friday that he "absolutely" refuted the allegations in a video shared on social media. He added that the claims were "extremely egregious and aggressive attacks."

The BBC, Channel 4 and Banijay, the new owners of Big Brother’s Big Mouth producers Endemol, have since reportedly opened investigations into the allegations.

“In light of the very serious allegations raised by Dispatches and The Times/Sunday Times investigation relating to the alleged serious misconduct of Russell Brand while presenting shows produced by Endemol in 2004 and 2005, Banijay UK has launched an urgent internal investigation and will cooperate with any requests for information from broadcast partners and external agencies,” Banijay stated on their website.

“We encourage anybody who feels that they were affected by Brand’s behavior while working on these productions to contact us in confidence by emailing speakup@banijayuk.com or via the anonymous link on http://speakup.banijay.com/."

Channel 4 said in a statement per BBC News that it is also conducting its own internal investigation following the accusations and has urged "anyone who is aware of such behavior to contact us directly."

The Telegraph reported that the outlet had "taken down all content featuring Russell Brand" during the investigation

Trevi Women and Children's Charity UK, who Brand worked with though his Stay Free Foundation has also cut ties with the comedian, following the allegations.

“Russell became aware of our charity in 2022 after hearing about some of the incredible mothers we have helped to become drug-free over the years. He wanted to support our cause and raise money through his Stay Free Foundation,” the charity said in a statement via Instagram.

“Today's media revelations have been difficult to process but our priority remains and continues to be the safety and well-being of all women and girls now and in the future,” the statement continued. “We have ended our association with Russell Brand and the Stay Free Foundation.”

“As a charity whose values put women's voices at the heart of what we do, we always prioritize supporting women affected by violence and abuse and empower them to live without violence or fear,” the charity concluded.

In a further development, Brand's literary agent Tavistock Wood also confirmed to PEOPLE that it would no longer represent him.

“Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him. Tavistock Wood has terminated all professional ties to Brand," the company said in a written release.

If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to rainn.org.

Tavistock Wood Management Agency said it believed it was "horribly misled by him."

Russell Brand’s management agency terminated all professional ties to the actor and comedian after sexual assault allegations were published Saturday following a joint investigation by The Times of London, The Sunday Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.

In a statement published Sunday, Tavistock Wood Management Agency said it believed it was “horribly misled by him.”

“Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegation made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him," the agency said. "TW has terminated all professional ties to Brand.”

Four women have come forward with allegations against Brand that include rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse. The U.K. news organizations published the allegations Saturday after a joint investigation.

Brand has denied the allegations.

“But amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute,” Brand said in a social media post.

One of the women, who alleges Brand groomed and raped her at 16, told The Times that she went to Brand's literary agent at Tavistock Wood in 2020 with the allegations.

Three years later, Brand has been taken down from Tavistock Wood's website.

The U.K. Metropolitan Police Service said it was "aware of the media reporting of a series of allegations of sexual assault."

"At this time, we have not received any reports in relation to this. If anyone believes they have been the victim of a sexual assault, no matter how long ago it happened, we would encourage them to contact police," it said in a statement.

Police also said they spoke with The Sunday Times and will to continue speak with it and Channel 4 "to ensure that any victims of crime who they have spoken with are aware of how they may report any criminal allegations to police."

Channel 4, The Times and The Sunday Times aired a special Saturday titled “Russell Brand: In Plain Sight.” The documentary features five women who allege that Brand has raped, sexually assaulted or abused them.

Some of the events Brand is accused of are alleged to have happened while he was working as a host and presenter for the BBC from 2006 to 2008.

In a statement, the BBC said it is "urgently looking into the issues raised" by the documentary.

“Russell Brand worked for a number of different organisations of which the BBC was one," the statement read. "As is well known, Russell Brand left the BBC after a serious editorial breach in 2008 — as did the then controller of Radio 2. The circumstances of the breach were reviewed in detail at the time. We hope that demonstrates that the BBC takes issues seriously and is prepared to act."

The U.K. women's charity Trevi Women announced that it had cut ties with Brand after the documentary aired on Channel 4 Dispatches.

"We have ended our association with Russell Brand and the Stay Free Foundation," the charity said in a statement, referring to a charity Brand runs to support people recovering from addiction.

Contrary to previous reports, Desiigner will not have to register as a sex offender unless it requires him to do so.

Desiigner's Attorney Explains Rapper's Sentence in Indecent Exposure Case

According to a report via People, published on Saturday (Sept. 16), Desiigner will not have to register as a sex offender unless the state requires him to do so. Last week, the Brooklyn rapper was sentenced for exposing himself and masturbating during a flight in April of 2023. According to court documents, as part of his sentence, Desiigner, born Sidney Royel Selby III, was ordered to comply with the requirements of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act in the state that he resides in (which is California).

This led many in the media to report that the "Panda" rapper must register as a sex offender. However, Desiigner's attorney, Ryan Garry, told People, that is not correct.

"Regarding the issue of Mr. Selby registering as a sex offender, many news outlets have incorrectly stated that he is required to register as an absolute condition of his probation. They are wrong," he told the publication.

"Since this was a federal misdemeanor, the sentencing judgement states that if the State of California or some other government entity requires that Mr. Selby must register as a sex offender, then he must," he continued.

"However, the parties in this case have come to the legal conclusion, after significant research and consultation with lawyers in California, that this misdemeanor conviction is not one that will cause Mr. Selby to have to register as a sex offender," he added. "If some government agency in California disagrees with our analysis, then we will address the matter at that point in time."

Desiigner Gets Sentenced in His Indecent Exposure Case

According to documents obtained by XXL on Thursday (Sept. 14), Desiigner pleaded guilty on Tuesday (Sept. 12) for a charge of obscenely and indecently exposed genitalia in a public place. He was sentenced to two years probation and must continue to participate in a psychiatric evaluation and routine drug testing. Additionally, the embattled rapper is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms and must perform 120 hours of community service. He also must pay a $5,000 fine.

On April 24, Desiigner was charged with indecent exposure aboard an aircraft after he was caught in first-class with his penis fully exposed while pleasuring himself in full view of flight attendants during a Delta flight from Tokyo to the Minneapolis.

Following the incident, Desiigner released a statement that he would be getting professional help for his mental health.

Not defending studios, fuck them, pay your talent

I think they’re thinking they can patch this over with reality tv (or at least they did in the last writer’s strike), documentaries, and with international content. I’m betting Netflix is shifting a ton of money towards the Asian and European markets for next year’s content.

Christiane Amanpour has reported all over the world, so she recognizes a democracy on the brink when she sees one.

“We have to be truthful, not neutral,” she urged. “I would make sure that you don’t just give a platform … to those who want to crash down the constitution and democracy.”

It’s a great suggestion, which will be summarily ignored by every major tv news outlet.

Regular maintenance, reinforcements and retrofitting can extend a dam’s safe operation well past 100 years and bring a structure up to current standards, Perera and Shannon say. But many dams don’t receive routine repairs and are not aging gracefully. Just making the recommended fixes to most U.S. dams would cost an estimated $157.5 billion dollars, according to a 2023 report from the Association of State Dam Safety Officials.

So much of today’s news feels like we’re frogs in a pot of boiling water.
