This is an interesting one. I worked for a digital marketing agency several years ago who had an office in Leeds and London. In Leeds everyone would say hi, have the occasional chat over a coffee and say bye at the end of the day.

Working in the London office was so different, only greeted by the receptionist, no real pleasantries, no chats over coffee and a deadpan look when you get up to leave.

I found it a strange vibe. To be fair, in the same way I realised quickly it is every man for themselves on the tube. Leave the Yorkshire charm on the platform when heading to London.

Wow, I bet that was amazing!

This is a great guide and really useful information. Having also done some family tree research in the past, there are a couple of other sources I found really useful.

  • Family Search has some really good information
  • CWGC is a great resource for those who served in the army

Well fingers crossed we get the absolute downpour we keep being promised. So far it has been quite sporadic. Well apart from the 15 minute downpour on Sunday while I was painting a fence (like it waited for me to do that).

Classic! Glad we found the culprit! Always the case though. Plan for a BBQ... Rain. Plan a day at the beach... Rain. Buy a fan... Rain.

I could not agree more. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the sunny climates but sometimes that break is just needed. Plus, sounding really old now, my garden needed the rain!

This is amazing! It has been great to see more and more communities, posts and comments over the past few days.

WOW... I did not know Snuff were still going. There is a blast from the past. That is an epic lineup for sure.

Never seen Elton but I do get he is a true performer. I hear he was amazing at Glasto. I am definately looking forward to seeing PRF. They were meant to be at SlamDunk this year but fell off the rosta a week or two before.

I feel that. Even when I went to see Evanescence (3 years after originally planned), it still had the post-pandemic vibe and I think a lot of people were uneasy. Another reason why I left it a few months before commiting to anything else major.

Cheers @Emperor@feddit.uk. List updated.

I will likely spin up the Slam Dunk one myself and just shout if you do start the Reading/Leeds Fest community.
