I just read a news article yesterday about how a cancer patient died because they were given a drug that they were allergic to (otherwise, their prognosis was good). This allergy can be caught with genetic testing, but the doctors missed this one known gene during the screen because their dataset was almost entirely based on white men. The patient was South Asian. Reminded me of this book.
