@sewing I am now second guessing the neckline on the vintage McCalls. I think V and sweetheart necklines look better on square shoulders. I like Watermelon best, but I think I would have to deepen the sweetheart shape. The other option I was considering is to hack the Persephone bodice into a regular bodice that can take a sleeve.

@sewing first muslin of McCalls 7652. Because it's vintage, I am starting out with a pattern that is 2 sizes too small. It came out a bit small but the FBA and petite adjustments seem to be ok. I do need to get more muslin before I can size up, so that's it for today. I think having a deadline is really helping me stay motivated. I will probably go get some tomorrow.

@clay_pidgin No, this is a lighter one. I don't think it would be appropriate for jeans, but it's heavier than chambray.

@Mouselemming thank you! It was a 2 yard remnant from my stash. It was a choice between pockets or ruffle and the ruffle won. I call it a win because I can't believe I made it with only 2 yards.

@sewing I was concerned that a denim jumper/pinafore dress would read as "preschool teacher) but I am quite happy with a fit of this Persephone dress from Made for Mermaids.
