It's because old books are in the public domain so it is cheaper for schools to buy them in bulk.

My personal headcanon is that every person weaving in and out of traffic on the highway is desperate to get to the hospital before their child is born. It helps me keep calm.

I've seen it as "Do you want the soup or salad? Yes, I'll have the super salad." And I find that a bit funnier.

I had no idea this was happening. Is this going to eliminate the need for Zelle and Venmo? Or is this more like I can send money from my bank to my credit union in an instant?

I looked into it not too long ago. It's basically a standard spam protection to block any emails from a private server. Sure Google doesn't own Email, but any Ody with a Gmail account won't even get your email in their spam filter, it won't even make it that far.
