That dude's comment was 100% troll baiting. No one makes such braindead arguments in good faith. Why would I waste my time? Now, I'm curious.. why are you so upset about my response to a blatant troll?

Sorry, you sounded like you were asking for a definition as if English was not your first language. Did you really want to split hairs over the definition of take? How about, what he said was so stupid it doesn't warrant a response?

Take is a weird word. Take as a noun refers to what has been taken. So, in this context, it is like an opinion informed by a story. In a more definitional use..

I took from that story that the sky is blue. That is what I have taken from that story, therefore, that is my take.

This take is so stupid, it doesn't warrant a response.

Hmmm... I'm a staunch pacifist and also 100% behind helping Ukraine. These things are not at odds because the enemy of pacifism is aggression. The person that can actually end the war is on the other side of the world.

Bingo. People keep saying how obvious because views aligned 100% with Russia (which, randomly, is like lottery odds). I have conservative friends who believe all that shit and they don't follow any of these clowns. The amount of times they've regurgitated Russian propaganda to me verbatim is hard to comprehend, and I've been shouting this from the rooftops for the better part of 2 years. It was just so damn obvious. People who have never given a thought to news outside of the US all the sudden telling me about Nazis in Ukraine was just a little too on the nose.

I'd bet my savings account this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Here's a picture of me when I was older.

And the flip side of that; paying a craftsman to do the job is 1000% better for everyone involved!

Better for the craftsman. I'm helping someone else stay employed.

Better for my house/car. Let's be honest, I learn by trial and error.

Better for me. Outside of more basic maintenance, I don't want to buy all those specialty tools.. like that thing you use to pull a shower handle cartridge out.

It's better for the economy. Putting money in the craftsman's pocket contributes to the general churn of the economy, and he is more inclined to buy local where I am more likely to end up at a franchise. It's a little thing I call Trickle Up Economics™.

Ha, my boss gives me this one. "But I'm different," he says when I tell him about side project stuff like working on my house. I try to tell him.. everyone my age I know is like that. They fix their own car/house/electronics and also do some kind of side work. You know how much a contractor costs? Between friends and family, I could be a contractor tomorrow, but not because I want to be. It's out of necessity. I would love to pay someone else to install floors or do plumbing.

But yeah.. all the evidence in front of his face doesn't hold a candle to whatever Fox News tells him.

Didn't expect so much hate for this game... In terms of simulations, in 2002, the original game was light years ahead of its time. They did a lot of things right that it took the more popular mil sims years to get correct. I'd go as far as to argue it is one of the most realistic squad-based tactical shooters of all time.

Always best to keep them guessing. Strategically, it's gold.

My sister started a new position that involves HTML. She tried to explain an issue to me, but I'm not a web guy. I told her to send it to me on Monday and she sent this...
