I do self-host some services but it bugs me that a lot of articles that talk about costs do not factor in a lot of additional costs. Drives for NAS need replacement. Running NUCs means quite an energy draw compared to most ARM based SBCs.

I can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not.

Just in case it isn’t - it’s obviously reference to late DMX’s legendary song with the same title.

I believe this is a power play between Horner and Verstappen family at this point. I’m not defending anything Horner allegedly did, but it clearly isn’t just a workplace harassment case…

AKHTUALLY it’s Visa Cash App RB F1 livery for you, peasant.

SUVs and crossovers are most popular cars in Europe.

Here’s a French source, coincidentally: https://www.lemonde.fr/en/economy/article/2023/09/14/suvs-now-dominate-european-car-market_6135326_19.html

Sadly, it seems Meta made some good decisions in LLM area at least. Llama is a de facto base of most good 7b and 13b LLMs, the ones that have potential on running on low grade hardware.

And the counter argument against contrarians is that it’s not an issue that the monsters are uninspired copies. I mean it’s not like they are the leitmotiv of the game... I guess GameFreak managed to set the bar very low.

I’m reallu happy that people are enjoying the game, especially with GF underdelivering for so long, but to me, the game looks like an asset flip with heavy… inspiration in monster design.

I have no clue how that happened… Thanks.

What are we going to call them? VISAS? Cashies? Bulls?

Sadly, this. Average consumer, and I don’t mean it as an insult, will not look for an alternative to streaming. All these giant streaming companies are gauging how far they can go to increase the profit margins.

The conclusion of the research is that solution energy efficient and cheaper. Smart bulbs are nice, but they solve neither of the issues mentioned. They need to be powered on all the time and you still need the switches either way, unless you design your home to be solely smartphone controlled but nobody does that.

What a record... Chaos Masked As Order and Divine Abysmal End are instant hits.

Weekly recommendation thread for older records. Things you keep going back to and want other people to appreciate.

Fuming Mouth - The Grand Descent (ffo: Gatecreeper, Trap Them, Nails)

I stumbled upon the band completely by accident, while skimming through Triple B's catalog. While not in line with the usual catalog of the label, it really is a nice blend of darkish death metal, crust and hardcore. Coupled with great artwork and Kurt Ballou's polish - the record really is a full package.

No Time - You'll Get Yours LP (ffo: slower Snapshot, The Flex, Violent Reaction)

I wish this band was less obscure and managed to record more than the LP and couple of singles. A very in-your-face-fuck-the-government-church-and-you record. It's fast. And simple.

Arkangel – Prayers Upon Deaf Ears (ffo: H8000)

Technically not a H8000 band, but the aesthetically and lyrically it's indistinguishable from bands like Congress or Liar. I somehow managed to miss it in it's prime time.
