It’s not just salary, the player that returns United to former glory will have their name etched in the history books. So it’s also a big legacy chance, if he goes to Madrid and wins a CL it wouldn’t be like winning one for United after 10 years of mediocrity. Also United is probably the only club on Madrid/Barca level when it comes to brand power. So no, it’s not just salary. I agree but if they can get Mbappe on a free they should sell Vini. I know Madrid fans like him but Mbappe is so much better.
Mbappe is perfect for Liverpool and I say that as a United fan, but I think Klopp would have to stop this 3 back system and go back to his 433, this would suit Mbappe the best.
