I snagged an OKJ Bronco for a great price a couple of weeks ago as a damaged packaging product. Turned out it was pretty much perfect inside except for a couple of small scratches which I covered up with enamel paint very easily.

Managed to hang a lamb leg in there last weekend which turned out delicious. Might try to do some ribs in there if the weather is decent this Sunday.

Maybe time for an automod to make the thread? If that exists on Lemmy

I thought about not going but it didn't seem like it would stop bleeding. Unfortunately it wasn't the type like a slice where you could hold it together and it clots up and stops bleeding. The doctor couldn't stitch it either, I think the word he used was "trimmed". Deep enough to continue bleeding but no way to close it up, hence the cauterisation. It's not fun I can tell you, it's also on my dominant hand which is annoying as I can't get it wet!

Well it finally happened, sliced a chunk out of my thumb using a mandoline last night. Spent almost 4 hours at two different ED’s to get it cauterised and a tetanus shot as it wouldn’t stop bleeding. Now my thumb is wrapped up in a super tight bandage that can’t get wet for 2 days and I have to take antibiotics again.

Shouldn’t have got cocky with the mandoline 😮‍💨

That's great. I agree a lot of adidas/Nike gear is pretty lacking in durability yet they still charge a premium for them

I see. The doc at first was going to prescribe amoxicillin, but mentioned if it was glandular fever it would make it worse. But she changed it to roxithromycin which should be safe according to her.

I think I'm getting better, but I'm still taking a few pain killers which makes it hard to tell if I'm actually better.

Well they haven't got back to me with the test results yet, but I already started taking them and the antibiotics. It's definitely seemed to help me yesterday and I managed a much better sleep last night without as much pain on waking up. What should I be concerned about with the steroids with glandular fever? I understand antibiotics wouldn't do anything as it's not a bacterial infection.

Thanks, luckily managed to squeeze in and get a doctors appointment this morning, so now have some extra antibiotics and steroids to take. She is thinking either strep throat or glandular fever, also did a blood test so they can confirm.

Well at least you’re supporting your local orange seller

Does it do anything? I've been drinking a lot of lime/lemon juice

The stupid thing is I know exactly how I got it too. My wife had it for around two weeks previous and lost her voice and everything. Then a couple weeks ago I stupidly grabbed her cup from the night before which hadn't been washed yet (I usually wash them up in the morning) to quickly get a cup of water to drink. I remember thinking "it'll be fine.."

Sorry, I had to share as it's been stuck in my head since yesterday.

I see it's based on the book by Hugh Howey, who also did the Silo series which I really enjoyed the TV adaptation of. I'm wondering if it's any good as I don't have a lot of time for starting too many TV shows at the moment.
