So what you're suggesting works in theory, but not in practice. There are times when simply ignoring bad actors or voting them down within a community is not enough to stop them from misbehaving. Try ostracizing a botnet. Or nicely asking trolls to stop posting racist memes. It won't work.

Of course they can be disabled. But sites are not all built the same way, so there isn't one silver bullet we can tell you about to disable them everywhere. On mobile it's even more difficult because access to browser plugins is more limited, along with developer features within the browser.

I also use FF on Android, and until recently was also using Reddit. There isn't a good way to remove that bar.

Good luck with that. It's just as smart as the rest of his decisions with Twitter.

Welp, time to move registrations over to Cloudflare. I'm not going to give my money to Squaspace for this.

People sure like to dunk on PHP. I'll take whatever flak for this, but this is the kind of meme a .NET fanboy or Ruby on Rails bro would make when they haven't touched any languages other then their prescious, and don't know wtf they're talking about.

PHP, after all these years, is STILL running 78% of all sites. That's not because it's garbage or the worst. It's solid, reliable, mature and very well documented. And I say this as someone who has gladly moved to Python, but also work in in others.

I'll be nuking my 11 yr old account soon. I've submitted the request for my data, and once I have a copy the account is getting deleted. I won't be going back.

He can stuff the votes with bots and get what he wants. Don't think for a second that he'll let people like you and I succeed at voting out mods who are on his side.

I haven't :) I think for most users the free version is everything they need. For $1 or $3 (depending on the tier) you get the ability to store and encrypt files instead of just passwords and text notes, etc. More on that here: https://bitwarden.com/pricing/

Big Trouble in Little China. It's more urban fantasy I suppose than scifi, but it's my ultimate feel-good movie.
Space Hunter and Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983) is high on my list too. Parts of it are SO bad, but the effects and set design (all practical fx) are really good. It's just fun.

  1. You get to decide who you are. No one can do this for you, although lots of people will try to define you.
  2. You also get to decide how much shit you're willing to eat when it comes to your job. Some people have a higher tolerance than others. Just remember that your loyalty to a manager or company should be directly equal to how loyal they are to you. You don't owe them a damn thing that they're not paying you (fairly) for.
  3. No one is the boss of you. You'll have managers, but don't get into the mindset that these people can tell you what to do and that you have no choice.
  4. No one knows what they're doing. As you get older you'll begin to realize that the older people you thought had some knowledge that comes with being an "adult" don't have things figured out either. Give yourself room to not have it figured out and to make mistakes. Everyone does.
