Revolt is fairly young in comparison to Matrix. A lot of features including E2EE will be implemented in the future. Also, Revolt actually does have bridges and an ecosystem of WIP third-party clients as well.

The backend is based on Rust, the current web frontend is based on preact. They are working on native Android and iOS apps, and a GTK based desktop client is being planned (but on hold currently). There is potential for an ecosystem of third-party apps due to the API being fully open
Revolt is not fedi. You can host your own server but you'll need a seperate build of their client to communicate to that server and seperate accounts
I despise subreddits who say "we are moving to discord". The two platforms are nothing alike and never will be
