This is why UK-brewed versions of continental beers taste better on the continent. They’re all generally weaker here.

Just to be clear, Apple isn't asking the Swiss apple growers to change their logo. And it definitely isn't forcing them.

I assmue some journalist saw Apple making a very boring Swiss trademark application and decided to call up a local company with an apple in its logo to see what they thought about it. There's zero chance the company will have to re-brand.

The US apple industry uses an apple logo without any problem: https://usapple.org/

There's some truth to this. Apple did used to mean basically any fruit. That's where we get "pineapple" in English. The Dutch call oranges "Chinese apples" and the French call potatoes "ground apples". Any new fruit or vegetable that came along was basically just some kind of apple. So I think Apple might have a case here.

Same. I like Edge's tab groups and collections, and it obviously works well with Google Docs etc, which I need to use for work. And then Firefox for most everything else because it's not evil and has better add-ons than Safari.

Also... I like to use bookmark folders on the toolbar and Safari's implementation of that is stupid.

We now have an early-warning system that can predict when an earthquake will hit, uh… somewhere on the planet.

Are they lurkers or just people who arrived from Google in search of an answer to a specific question? Because I doubt stupid content has much effect on that kind of traffic.

Reddit’s terrible UI is what started this mess. The third parties own the best UIs and they’re all fucking off.

I guess for low-speed urban situations like the one pictured it might be a bit sketchy. Not sure you’d want to be barrelling into a park on a mixed-use cycle path…

They only eat grass, but for you they’d make an exception.

My home office is far more comfortable than anything that was ever provided for me by an employer. I’ve got a Herman Miller chair, a motorised sit/stand desk, a 4K monitor and a dog that lies by my side.
