Yeah, Memmy is no good on iPad. Wefwef is definitely the way to go for now.

I see. I'll assume this is a problem related to the surge in users and will eventually resolve itself.

I should add that I thought being on a smaller instance like Feddit would avoid some of the defederation problems compared to being on lemmy.world or beehaw, so it's weird to me that there are fewer comments on Feddit than on lemmy.world.

Looking closer at the comments on the F1 post, it seems that the missing comments are from lemmy.world users. Has Feddit defedrated from lemmy.world? Did I miss that?

John Lewis isn’t a corporation, it’s an employee-owned partnership and has pretty good ethics. And decent rental accommodation is very much needed in this country.

Private companies (which is most businesses) are still worth something. If big investors like Fidelity value your business at $1bn, banks will absolutely consider that as collateral for loans and so on. And if they say your business has halved in value, they’ll consider that too.

Apollo went by many different names if you wanna go down that route: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo#Greco-Roman_epithets

This kind of thing is common in many jobs — as you become more experienced, you take on more management responsibilities. It’s inevitable but not always ideal.

The alternative is that you get managed by people with no first-hand experience of actually doing the job, but it can also mean that people get promoted into management roles without necessarily having management qualities (which can be the worst of both worlds — you lose a good coder and gain a bad manager).

Yeah but it doesn’t look as close to Apollo as wefwef. It also doesn’t work as well on iPad, whereas wefwef has just nailed the aesthetic of Apollo right away.

Apollo had lots of compact view options that wefwef doesn’t have yet.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone call themselves a “leftist”, but maybe I move in the wrong circles. (I am a vegan though.)

It’s almost the opposite. Banks used to be more than happy to do business with all kinds of crooks. Government regulations restrict them from being so blasé these days.

Not sure the Italians consider a chicken bacon ranch pizza to be a pizza.
