Let me tell you the thing that changed my mind on lesser evil voting.

It used to be, when people said "if you vote for the lesser evil you are endorsing evil" I would balk, because thats not why I was voting lesser evil right? I was voting for the differences.

Then it hit me, thats not how the candidate and party see my vote is it? No, they see my vote as a 100% endorsement of everything they are doing. Which in this case includes a genocide.

In 50 years I dont want to look children in the face asking me what I did during the Gaza genocide and say "voted for the guy committing the genocide because he was nicer".

I thought we agreed that people who live in places where the US has bases get to talk about US elections? I dont like that IVe seen two people ome at this poster with this response because I thought we didnt think that way. The whole world is effected by US elections.

Yeah I mean, the conclusion of the video is "basically yes" but it makes some interesting points along the way about the changing definition of woke after it was stolen from AAVE, and whether you can say X-Men fits the original definition and whether it fits the changed definition, and also like a lot of other really good points idk I like the video a lot.

So Christian Science is obviously a weird cultish religion that lets kids die but growing up as one it ruined multiple things about both Catholicism and Protestantism for me because the core theology actually sort of makes sense in a way that those kinda do not, and one of those ways was finding the fact that Catholics claim to be monotheistic but pray to saints extremely fucking odd. I remember when my friend became a hardcore Catholic convert we argued about it a few times lol.

I need a 100% line in the sand take on if the Iranian election results are good or not lol. https://x.com/still_oppressed this account that I have grown to like/trust seems to think its good but people in here were divided between "its bad" and "its mixed".

What Ive gathered so far is

  • He's socially liberal re hijab laws and such
  • He supports rights for ethnic minorities which noone here mentioned from what I saw and seems important.
  • Iranians who want an end to social conservatism had only him as an option because there's no communists there anymore
  • He's economically neoliberal which btw I cant find any sources on that outside of people saying it here
  • He might be pro-west but things Ive read about him elsewhere seem to indicate otherwise?
  • Him being pro-west might not matter anyway because America is too arrogant to accept overtures anyway?

Am I missing anything?

This comes from the incorrect assumption that the only kind of politics that exist are voting. Anti-voting leftists are usually involved in some sort of leftist organization which does much more material good than voting ever could. Learn about direct action.
