I am a bit confused; what is trying to be communicated here?

Actually, quite the opposite.

I believe that in general the economy should be left free, but not in cases of extreme recession or inflation (ex. Right now). In fact, that's basically one of the three reasons the federal government was established; to establish a common currency and economy, to regulate mail, and to solve disputes between states.

That being said, a private company should be able to run their business how they want to run it without being told off by a government.

Edit: Clarified wording.

I never endorsed it. Sure, it may be justified, but that doesn't make it legal.

An associate of mine defines stealing as, "taking (either by cloning or removing) something (either digital or physical) of which is not of your original possession"

If anyone has a rebuttal, please help.

Edit: What's with the downvotes? I'm on your side.

"If you had just read the fine print, you would have realized that you're not actually owning and they could take it away at their own discretion." - an associate of mine

So you're saying we shouldn't consume content?

Thank you for the suggestions, I will be sure to check them out.

Also, my intention was not to be hostile. I made that comment out of the facts the other comments that were made at that time presented, in which were saying the pros of FOSS, and Zello should not be trusted because of it's closed-source nature. Somewhere in there my tone must have gotten misinterpreted.

Again, I apologize to anyone who read my comments as an act of hostility, as that was not my intention.

Oh, apologies for the misunderstanding.

I understand that Zello is not FOSS, but their website claims everything is end-to-end-encrypted.

So, in short, should/can it be trusted? If not, are there any good FOSS alternatives that provide similar Walkie-Talkie like functionality?

So, this might seem like a stupid question on face value, but I'll go further in detail.

Everyone talks about getting a personal website so you can freely express yourself without getting beaten up by typical Social Media companies. While I fully agree with that, there are a few issues I have thought of:

Firstly, (assuming self-hosting isnt an option) won't you have to use google or AWS to host your website? And if you post something "they don't like", nothing is stopping them from just ban-hammering your website.

Secondly, even if you get a stable host, getting a domain is a completely different issue with the same causes; they could just revoke your domain if, again, you say something "they don't like".

With all that being said, would anyone have any remedies for these issues? Are there any privacy/free-speech respecting web hosts and domain suppliers?

Thank you for your responses! :D

School is starting up soon, and I want to install a stable distro to a 64GB flash drive that i own will remain stable while booting onto at least 2 computers (my home PC for maintenance and my School laptop for, well school).

I was thinking of just using Debian, but wasn’t sure if it would work well in terms of compatibility with my requirements.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
