If I were south africa, I would trust devices built around Chinese baseband modems over those built around US/Korean baseband modems.

The US and FiveEyes paranoia being spread isn't just projection due to what they themselves are doing but because everyone using their baseband modems is something their intelligence agencies rely on to monitor other nations. When people use Chinese baseband modems, the US loses that access. It is undeniable at this point that the US natsec apparatus mandates baseband modems be backdoored (have been found in Samsung and Qualcomm modems), there is a reason it is the one part of all wireless devices that's a black box with a closed source embedded operating system totally separate and opaque from the device the modem is installed in.

Don't worry about the EU getting cut off from African LMG because the USA is ready and eager to supply whatever LNG EU nations need. Ofc just like when the US stepped in to take over the market opened up by the destruction of Nordstream, the EU will be paying a heavy markup over what they would have paid for African LNG. God bless the USA, advancing US national interests, and the power of free markets. Shareholders rejoice!

The fighting methods of the US military just can't work for fighters like those of Ukraine because only the US military (and the modern Chinese military) are capable of such front-line logistics and combined arms coordination.

The US military is perfect for the type of fighting happening in Ukraine, where the US military fails consistently is when it has to then occupy an entire nation after it has steam rolled over any conventional army in it's path. The US has proven multiple times since WW2 that it is still capable of such fighting, that it excels at it. It is the occupation and counter insurgency stage that the US military fails at, although it doesn't even fail at that because maintaining a conflict at low intensity is a US goal after the conventional military fighting is over. This is why the US after it stomps a nations conventional military into the ground only ends the counter insurgency stage of the conflict after it has lined up a new cash cow. Afghanistan ended when the US finally had the situation in Ukraine primed.
