Until the instance you choose blocks access to communities you enjoyed and it all starts over again.

Until accounts can be migrated or users are disconnected from the instances, this will be a huge limit of Lemmy over other social media. Having to maintain multiple accounts on the same platform simply to view all the content you want will deter users.

Same here. Guess I've got to go to a new instance.

I've started listening to audio books. I usually only make it about 15-20 mins before I fall asleep.

Looking mindlessly at my phone and scrolling through pointless posts puts me to sleep significantly faster than laying still listening to whatever thoughts and concerns my brain conjures up.

Are you saying Ryan Gosling is literally a replicant?

They will start offering 4 day work weeks and reduce salaries accordingly.

The person referenced in the article was raided for completely unrelated charges. It just happened they took the server and backups as part of the raid. Had they hosted off-site or kept the backups off-site, the damage would have been minimal. This article brings up a good point, but it's not the nefariousness that the title implies.

I saw a great quote,

"It's not pirating if buying it isn't owning it".

You really can play the game however you want. There are a bunch of monster contracts you can do if all you want to do is fight monsters, and a bunch of side quests involve fighting more monsters along the way. And some of the story show you some of the worst monsters are actually humans. The durability is a pain, but once you build up some cash, you can buy repair kits that make long travels easier. Otherwise, repair every time you are in a town/city. The game has a lot to it and starts kind of slow but once you get into it (about Crows Perch and the Baron storyline), it's a ton of fun.
