After everything that’s happened the last few years I didn’t think I could be surprised by any headlines any more… but “bird sniffing is not a crime” are a set of words I never expected to see out together in a sentence.

Our little boy has a milk allergy (tbh I suspect he may have grown out of it but haven’t put that to the test yet) - so we’ve gone to our neighbours and given them some vegan chocolate. That way we can take the little one next door for a little bit of trick or treating.

We haven’t decorated but he absolutely loves going past the houses that have gone to the effort “giant spider! Spooky Skeleton!” “Ghosty!!!” hard to be grumpy at a holiday when the little ones are enjoying it so much.

That is excellent planning! I must remember to do that next year (but I suspect the clock change will just sneak up on me again)

Better than it going off an hour late!

Gotta ask though: why are you using the hotel TV alarm clock? didn’t society all agree that our phones are now our alarm clocks?

Awake at 5am but held firm at keeping the lights off and just trying to cwtch until close to 6 when we got up properly.

So far spent the day outside in the sun playing with high energy activities and have managed to time nap time perfectly so fingers crossed that will all help with bed time later tonight.

That all being said… please can we all just scrap the bloody clock changes and stick with BST all year?

What an absolute crap-fest of a PM and a political party as a whole.

Dad life wise - really good. My little boy (nearly 3) is a proper joy and we’re finally at the point where he reliably sleeps through the night. We’ve got baby number 2 on the way so trying to enjoy the sleep while I can.

My work has been a mixed bag - it’s sometimes hard to shake that off and leave work at work but I do my best at pushing it out of my head.

I’m excited to have Russel T Davies back as show runner. Feels good to be actually looking forward to new Doctor Who episodes again!

Give it up for Thursday!

I wish they didn’t use that bright blue screen when they are off air though. That’s a shock to tired eyes

You can pick a message and sign one of the postcards here: https://findothers.com/tools/postcards-for-refugee-children

Thousands of asylum seeker children will be sent postcards with bright and cheerful cartoons on them after ministers recently ordered murals at two reception centres to be painted over last month.

Voting is how things pass

You can combine that with other action if you are motivated - protesting, writing to your representatives, campaigning for whoever is closest to your views and so on…

yes the game is rigged.. the media is (mostly) bought and paid for, the impact of social media manipulation is awful…. But ultimately - not voting does nothing to help, worse than that.. not voting actively helps those people stay in power who stack the deck.

Voter apathy.. “they are all as bad as each other” is a ploy to stop us holding those in power to account.

Could you expand on that?

I mean… I get the frustration with Keir Starmer and how hard it is when you can’t find a party or person who properly represents those with left or more socialist view… but worse than the Tories? Really? I mean I just can’t see how that’s possible.

The only people who win when we don’t vote is the Tories… and we can all see what damage that has done.
