I watched that when it came out but the scene with the father and the tree is still firmly planted in my head.

In the space of a week I've gone from "damn, they've actually made themselves favourites to make the 'loffs' to "somehow Pittsburgh returned" and I'm not pleased about it.

Is it considered a staycation if you get a caravan for a week? Or is that below the Guardian?

[–] Oneeightnine 1 points 7 months ago

Yeah we've got some of this, although perhaps not as frustratingly bad as you guys.

She's very picky, but we've gotten to the point that we just cook what the other three of us eat and if she doesn't want it then so be it.

I should emphasize that we generally only eat what we know she likes, but for some reason she'll decide on a random wednesday that now she doesn't like peas and .....yeah okay.

Banana before bed I guess.

Don't know about how it is in the US, but in the UK the idea of people rushing to finish their transaction fills me with dread. I've worked in a supermarket with self service and the general public really struggles with them.

It was all good until I told my partner that she absolutely gets it from her. That did not go well for me 😬😬

I've been pretty desperate for some good 'Dad friends' for a while now but it's never happened. I only do pick up and drop offs once a week, and whilst people are friendly it's never gone any further than that. Sadness.

I agree with the sentiment, but I hope it doesn't go too hard on the Witcher vibes. That show, was...well not good.

There's a very narrow line that I hope they can tread that both tells an engaging and interesting story whilst also keeping it fun and approachable. I think the Witcher failed to walk that line.

It's happening. My eldest is six. And I've noticed that when it comes to being a stubborn git, she's definitely more her Mum than she is me.

She'll refuse to do the most benign things. Getting dressed and brushing her teeth is an absolute battle. Trying to get her to eat anything that's not a ketchup covered fish finger? An Impossibility. She's her Mum. Classic 'cutting off her nose to spite her face' sort of stuff.

Ay ay ay.

Firstly, Chorley.

Secondly, I should rewatch Phoenix Nights. It's been like twenty years, it's time.

As for where I'm from? Walkers Crisps and Pork Pies.

It appears we've come full circle in merely hoping Ovi scores. He did.

There's a good crossover between the best Rugby nations and the best Cricketing nations; I'm assuming this is down to good old fashioned British colonialism?

Which leads me to wonder why Rugby never gained the same level of support in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka as it did in New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and Fiji.

Or am I totally wrong and the two things aren't remotely related?

My eldest is screaming because she didn't get as many eggs as she thought she would. Thanks Bluey.

How's your weekend going?

So some idiot crashed into my car on Monday night (whilst it was parked). The best part? It's happened twice in two years. Fun right?

Anyway. I'm viewing some cars tomorrow. I've got a budget. 4k at an absolute maximum (primarily because I'm convinced it's going to get wrecked again).

I'm going on my own and I know next to nothing about cars so I'd really appreciate any tips or clues as to what to look out for.

Update

Looking at some more cars tomorrow with my step Dad. Fingers crossed. Your advice has been very helpful. Cheers.

Another one gone. Another expensive and utterly wasteful by-election on the horizon that'll see the winner sit in parliament for a few weeks summer recess and then a winter election.

All this waiting around sure doesn't seem to be good for anyone but the guys running the show.

What's the worst job you've ever had? What made it bad and how long did you last?

Hello, Good morning and welcome to another fine edition of What We're Playing; our weekly round up everything that's kept us glued (or not) to our TV screens, desktop monitors, portable displays and whatever else you crazy kids are playing games on these days.

So, what have you been playing over the last seven days?

I'll kick us off I guess.

The Kings of Leon song about one's 'Sex being on fire'? Yeah I have no idea what that means. What does 'your sex is on fire mean'?

Gulp.

One point clear of Detroit, with one game in hand.

Two points back of Philly, with one game in hand.

Be real nice if we could push the flyers into the WC2 spot.

God damn this game is gorgeous.

What is it

Let's Talk About Games aims to be a place where fans of videogames come together to talk about the hobby they love, the culture around that hobby and the ways in which we interact and enjoy it.

Maybe you've played a cool game that you'd like to talk about, or perhaps you've watched a really interesting deep-dive into your favourite games lore that you feel needs to be shared. That's the sort of thing we're going for.

If that sounds like it might be for you then pop on over and join in the conversation.

Congratulations to the team and the community as a whole for this pretty amazing achievement.

Turns out the one level that the group was having trouble with was originally uploaded using something called a TAS, which renders it null and void, so they didn't actually have to beat that one to finish them all.

**Edited title. Making sure that the word 'level' doesn't fit. Have a good day. *

Jeff Marek of Sportsnet is always going on about how sports are never better than when you're 12. And I agree.

That said, Hockey (at least for me) was never better than in 2012, when I was absolutely not 12 years old.

The Capitals went into Boston with their third string goalie and won with an OT G7 goal. We had that insane Philly v Pittsburgh series that had everything from line brawls to blow outs and even Phoenix went on a run and knocked off the Hawks and Predators, it was so much fun.

So, when did Hockey peak for you?
