I've been to quite a few cities here in Europe that aren't car dependent.
Local co op games never left, as long as you have a Nintendo console or a pc to emulate up to and including Switch.
Well, I saw politics@lemmy.world was US only. So I blocked it.
That's pretty much the extent of my involvement in moaning/bothering about politics here.

Yes, RCA is common, even on high end models. Coax aerial connections are also common here in the UK as we have Freeview TV (majority of the UK TV channels are free to receive with any digital aerial and "Freeview" decoder box/TV).
I think RGB SCART is still around here too in a larger way than many realise. my parents got a new TV I set up for them which had an RGB SCART socket. Used it to quickly test out a SNES the other day when visiting and it fucking worked fine lol, looked remarkably good but no match for a proper upscaler obviously

I looked at the same thing. I just got a 65" Samsung and walled off its internet access. Sorted.
My Samsung is the best TV I've ever owned. Incredible image. Exceptionally low input lag, tested against my CRT.
Obviously I have it totally locked down as far as web access is concerned. It's for all intents and purposes, a dumb TV now. Works great.
People forgot about the similar pandemic in 1919 or so. Everything repeated, including the anti-vaxxers.
So yes it will happen again and again. As will war, and everything else shit yet inherent in human nature.

Yep, people here seem to be totally misunderstanding and overestimating how much the average person knows about tech.
I work in a role where I have to help clients sometimes access their reports via a portal. The clients ages range from 20s to their 80s, some very successful, some less, all intelligent at least. The amount of times I have had to explain what a browser is....or how to type in a URL ("but I just type the address in the Google thing!', searching for a fucking URL), and the absolute fucking basics. It is infuriating, and it is not restricted to one type of person or age group. Most people simply do not give a fuck about tech.
My daughter is 12 and has just moved into secondary school. She's commented that a lot of her class in IT cannot use a computer. They do not know how to use a filesystem, how to use a mouse or even a keyboard as they've grown up with iPads/phones and being able to bash in what they want into the first screen they see.
I have no issues with the judge. He asked for clarification, got it, and moved on. That's not being inept, that's being a normal person. Now if he keeps doing it past this point, and it starts affecting the case because he's incapable of understanding, then yeah that might be different.
