Absolutely not downvoting you, but I do disagree. I have lots of problems with the series in both forms of media.
The Fellowship of the Rings is a beautiful unfolding of worlds. From Frodo’s (and the reader’s) ignorant comfort in the Shire all the way to dark knowledge of Mordor. The movie info dumps everything the book carefully unveils in the first minute.
Ooh Three Musketeers is actually an excellent example! I wanted to love that book so much!!
