I’ve enjoyed the show but held off on reading the books because I’ve heard similar feedback on them before.

The book is fun for Gen X readers just for the nostalgia factor. The story isn’t deep or meaningful in any way but the throwbacks to 1980s pop culture kept me turning pages.
