I was about to say the same, I have only been here a couple of days, but I like the community here, regrettably I also like the communities on some other instances. I really wish there were better solutions for this because as long as another instance can still interact with Beehaw then I may end up using that one more often. Hard to tell right now, since I expect many other instances are dealing with similar issues right now.

This is what I would do, unless your friend is already fediverse knowledgeable. If you have knowledge about what subreddit they enjoyed the most you can use the community browser to find what instance has the largest similar community and show them that. https://browse.feddit.de
I mean the middle bottom one could be considered an animal… a deceased one but still.
It’s okay to not be okay, no healthy person is happy all the time. Emotions have meaning and are human.
What’s more, if you are living in a place where your human rights are under attack it is those that aren’t profoundly disturbed by that who are abnormal and unhealthy.
Reminds me of the "Polaroid Story"
The company that owns the Polaroid brand and IP, PLR IP Holdings, LLC, was just sold by an ownership group led by the Pohlad family to an ownership group led by the Smolokowski family. The Pohlad family, which owns the Minnesota Twins baseball team, purchased its majority stake in Polaroid back in December 2014 for $70 million.
Although its iconic instant film and cameras may be out of production now, Polaroid the brand is still alive and well: through licensing agreements, a huge range of Polaroid products are still being sold in over 100,000 retail stores in over 100 countries around the world.
Same, I chose Beehaw in particular because of its stance on providing a bigotry free platform... that being said as a federated service you have many options for a "home instance" but if you still want to interact with a community on another instance you will still be subject to that communities and instances policies. As a lot of people like yourself have chosen Beehaw for its safe space nature, you may miss out on communities you would feel welcomed in if you were to completely swear off Beehaw, although you do have the freedom to choose that.
It makes sense from their perspective but still kinda shitty.
The real question I think is will Reddit retaliate back and forcibly recover communities and install new mods?
It is very common, 2 resources with similar quick exit features that come to mind are The Trevor Project and Rainbow Passage.
I strongly advocate for greater legal accountability for individuals in positions of power, and I am open to the possibility of future charges being brought against President Biden. It is important to acknowledge that numerous US presidents, regardless of party affiliation, probably should face charges related to war crimes. Nevertheless, I recognize the significance of establishing a precedent that former presidents are subject to the law, and I wholeheartedly support such a development.
